A new adventure

I silently started this blog just to show how someone can start to play 9th age ,without knowing anything about the game on his 45th birthday.

Ofcourse i played many things in the past. RPG games, infinity the game (as a miniature game example) and MTG too.

After some friends have insisted and inspired me for a time to play the game, i had to choose an army myself and i had really hard time to choose one among these three. Undyeing dynasties, Saurian Ancients and Sylvan Elves. This is an other days' topic. So i decided to start the game with Saurian Ancients.

I love the theme of Aztecs and dreamed about painting them in nice vibrant colors.

About the minis, i wanted to start with One Page rules minis. Selecting the minis also is an other days' topic.

With a help from my friend, we started printing my army according to trial list, which i want to learn playing the game.

Here is the list.

Saurian Ancients

860 - Tegu Veteran, Alpha Carnosaur (Rex), Light Lance (Glory of the Dawn Age), Starfall Lodestone, Obsidian Rock

565 - Anurarch Archmage, Divination, Talisman of the Void, Eternal Mastery, Maddening Mastery

150 - Skink Veteran, Shield, Blowpipe, Infiltrator's Dart, Master Strategist

450 - 32 Skink Warriors, 4x Caiman Mentors (Halberd), Standard Bearer (Aether Icon)

450 - 32 Skink Warriors, 4x Caiman Mentors (Halberd), Standard Bearer (Legion Standard)

226 - 20 Skink Hunters

712 - 29 Tegu Guards, Champion, Standard Bearer (Koru Stone)

304 - 15 Skink Guerrillas, Blowpipe, Chameleon, Champion

294 - 15 Skink Guerrillas, Blowpipe, Chameleon

289 - 15 Skink Guerrillas, Blowpipe, Vanguard, Champion

200 - 3 Pteradon Riders, Magnetic Short Bow

4500

So here it goes.

What we printed firstly is my notorious Frog mage and his Tengu Guards. (The ones In bold)

Meanwhile,i was preparing my 25mm square bases and painted them in jungle theme. This is also an other days' topic.

Thats it for the moment.
See in you in next thread.

About those miniature stl companies

I would like make my comments about those 3d stl seller companies out there and like to notify my points for you to make for you more easy to select your armies and the related companies. What we are doing here ? We want to print our miniatures, paint them easilly / nicely and we want to move them, transport them without any problems. I wanted to write you like this because i was like one of you, guys who are impressed with the 3d render beauties i saw. I felt in love with many staff in Last sword and Lost Kingdom miniatures. They were looking really astonishing on screen. :) Some of you may noticed that i put a smiley face over there. So first off all , know this. Gorgeous 3d renders wont come up very nicely on reality. You will loose some details.  And worst thing is there will be needle like small pieces which will break very easily. You may have to glue them in the middle of the combat. It is disgusting to see your painted mini is broken in to pieces very easilly. There a...

Tegu guards + the frog mage in same unit

I started painting with one page rules' Tegu Guards and our Anurarch the frog mage. I thought deeply about what to print first and paint after and decided finally with one of the main units in Saurian Ancients. Here is why from my perspective. Initally, Tegu Guards, with as stats below is the main protector of our character frog mage which is one of our main strong points. Tegu guards are known as temple guards by old players. Lets evaluate together. Resilient enough and with Str 5 (together with Patu), Tegu guards are fantastic killers with 2 attacks. They always strike at the end of the initiative (they are too slow) and they always take the first hit but after the first blow, they answer very strong. they have also lodestone and +1 armor penetration. Lodestone  – Close Combat, Shooting Attack Attribute for Saurian Ancients Attacks with Lodestone are subject to the following rules when rolling to hit: • Close Combat Attacks allocated towards a model with Armour 3 or more g...
